    Definition

    What is Completion certificate?

A completion certificate is a single record tying together the signing process of a document (the parties, the sequence, and the timing) as evidence of how it was executed.

A completion certificate accompanies an electronically signed document and records the process behind the signature: who signed, in what order, and when. It exists because a signed file alone proves that a signature exists, while a defensible signing record has to prove the process, and the process is what carries weight if the agreement is ever disputed.

Without a certificate, the signing history is often scattered: the draft in one tool, the sending in an inbox, the signing events in a third-party app, and reconstructing what happened during a dispute is slow and error-prone. A completion certificate consolidates that history into one coherent, attributable artifact.

Atlas produces a completion certificate for contracts signed in place with its e-signature flow, kept next to the deal and record the contract governs, so the executed agreement comes with a clear account of how it was signed.

    FAQ

    Questions, answered.

What is a completion certificate for an e-signature?
It is a record that ties together the signing process of a document (the parties, the order they signed in, and the timing) as evidence of how the agreement was executed. It complements the signed file, which alone only proves a signature exists rather than the process behind it.
Why does a completion certificate matter?
Because contracts are questioned at the worst times (a dispute or audit) and a scattered signing history is hard to reconstruct then. A completion certificate consolidates who signed what, when, and in what order into one coherent, attributable record, which is what makes a signing record defensible.
