    Daily shutdown

End-of-day review with a streak and carryover suggestion.

    personalgtd

    Overview

summarizeDay() buckets today's tasks into planned-done, planned-missed, and unplanned-done, proposes carryover (planned-missed plus any overdue open items), and flags streakOk when at least one task closed today.

    Highlights

The capabilities worth knowing before you dive in.

    • Purely client-side; it runs offline on the replica
    • Celebrates off-script wins, not just planned completions
    • A streak flame appears when you completed something today

    Important to know

Limits, permissions, and sharp edges to keep in mind.

    • Day boundaries are UTC. Tenant-timezone support ships with the next calendar iteration.

    How to use it

The primary workflow, start to finish.

    1. 1Open Daily shutdown from the sidebar at the end of the day. It sits in Plan under Tasks and Planning, beside Weekly review, which is the same activity at a slower cadence. The command palette finds it too.
    2. 2Review each section, and optionally drag carryover items to tomorrow.
    3. 3Close the tab feeling settled.

    FAQ

Why does my day appear to end at the wrong time?
Day boundaries are currently computed in UTC. If you work well ahead of or behind UTC, the cut can fall inside your working day. Tenant timezone support arrives with the next calendar iteration.
Does the summary count work I did that was not planned?
Yes, and deliberately. Tasks are bucketed into planned and done, planned and missed, and unplanned and done, so a day spent on work nobody scheduled still reads as a day of work rather than as a failure.
Does this need a network connection?
No. The summary is computed on the client against the local replica, so it works offline and does not wait on a request to tell you how the day went.
